Week ahead — 14 June 2026

Hey folks, quick note before Monday kicks off. This feels like a range-leaning week to me rather than a clean trending one. We're coming off a stretch where Nifty has been chopping inside a fairly defined band, VIX has stayed soft, and there's no major domestic trigger on the calendar until later. Global cues are mixed but nothing screaming directional.

What this means practically: pivot levels become more useful, not less. In ranging weeks, R1/S1 tend to actually hold on the first test, and fades from extremes work better than breakout chases. The opposite of trend weeks where you want to ride through pivots, not fade them.

How I'm using pivots this week

  • Treat the daily CPR as the magnet — narrow CPR days are where breakout traps live, wide CPR favours mean reversion
  • First 15-min range matters more than usual in a chop regime — don't force trades before it forms
  • Fade R2/S2 with defined stops rather than chasing momentum into them
  • If we get two consecutive closes outside the weekly pivot zone, reassess — that's your trend signal

I'll be refreshing daily levels each morning on the pivot calculator — worth bookmarking if you haven't. Also keep an eye on Bank Nifty relative strength; it's been the cleaner instrument for intraday lately.

Fwiw, options sellers probably have the edge in this kind of tape, but theta plays need disciplined stops — ranging weeks have a habit of breaking on Thursday/Friday once everyone's comfortable. Stay nimble.
