Weekly F&O Context — Sunday, 7 June 2026
Sunday evening, quick one before the week kicks off. Wanted to talk about sizing because I see traders mess this up more than entries.
Here's how I think about it. Full size only goes on the table when three things line up — clean trend on the daily, decent VIX (not too low where premiums are dead, not spiking where stops get hunted), and a setup that respects a clear level. If any one of those is off, I'm halving size. If two are off, I'm sitting out or taking a quarter position just to stay engaged.
What this week looks like
We're heading into a week where positioning matters more than usual. If we open with a gap either side of Friday's close, don't chase the first 15 minutes. Let the range form. I mark my levels off the weekly pivot before the bell — the calculator at /nifty-pivot-points-today does the math so I don't have to fumble with it half-asleep.
Quick sizing checklist I actually use:
- Trending market, VIX behaving, level respected — full size, normal stop
- Choppy daily, decent VIX — half size, tighter stop, exit faster
- Event week or VIX spiking — quarter size or options only, no naked futures
- Drifting low-volume tape — honestly just skip it, the brokerage isn't worth it
One thing worth noting — Thursday expiry will pull the tape around as always, so any swing trade I'm carrying into Wednesday gets reviewed Wednesday evening. Either I commit to holding through expiry noise or I close. No half-decisions.
Keep the journal updated. That's the edge. See you Monday.
